WRANGLER - POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are a small company of cowboys and cowgirls that got its start in 2001. We were motivated by the idea of delivering a higher quality, day time horse activity that was still affordable and held closely to the Western ideals of horse/rider interaction. We are still staffed by the same core of people who began this venture, along with a few new additions. Our staff, though small, excels at giving our guests the kind of personal, Western touch that so many outfits have forgotten. While we are always hoping to add new and exciting features to our list of activities, we are most concerned with maintaining a close, personal interaction with each and every guest that joins us here at the Rusty Spurr.

Major Goal:

A wrangler is dedicated to providing the best possible experience for their guests by maintaining healthy horses, a safe riding environment via thorough communication and instruction, and a fun riding environment by appearing relaxed while remaining attentive. Their enthusiasm for and immersion in Western culture, horses and cattle is the key to success for the Rusty Spurr Ranch.  They are dedicated to actively promoting and positively representing the Rusty Spurr Ranch and the Cowboy Lifestyle.

 

Responsibilities and Requirements Include (Not limited to):

  • Daily horse care, saddling and tack maintenance
  • Greeting guests, taking out rides and participating in cattle drives
  • Visiting/mingling with guests when appropriate
  • Basic ranch maintenance (minor fence work, grounds keeping, ensuring a tidy appearance)
  • Moderate riding skills
  • Valid driver’s license and transportation
  • Satisfactory background check
  • Professional and personal references
  • Cellular phone
  • Flexible schedule and availability (including Holidays and weekends)
  • Must represent Rusty Spurr Ranch in a positive and professional manner
